Christopher Suprun

Christopher Suprun is one of the 9-11 Foundation’s founding board members. He is currently the EMS Chief for Marshall County, Oklahoma.

His past resume has spanned more than twenty years as a paramedic/firefighter. He has served on many career incidents.

These incidents include responding to the September 11 attack, and many others. Some of those include Hurricane Katrina and the Berrendo Middle School Shooting.

As EMS Chief, Suprun still works as a street paramedic.

His initial EMT training and paramedic school was in Virginia. Since then he has become a Texas paramedic and Advanced Coordinator. Suprun is also a Certified Flight Paramedic.

He is former Chairman of the EMS for Children National Center Advisory Council.

Suprun has also served appointments as Adjunct Faculty for EMS at Dallas College. He served as Adjunct Instructor in Emergency Medicine for The George Washington University.

He has taught on a wide variety of subjects for public safety agencies across the spectrum. Agencies include regional hospitals, federal law enforcement, Fortune 500 firms, and foreign governments. His Google Scholar profile includes some of the work he has published.

Christopher Suprun has served in local, state, and national appointed and elected positions.

Beyond his work in public safety he has represented Texas in the Electoral College. He also worked for two Governors as a Special Assistant. Suprun was in communication positions for The White House, a US Senator, and NBC.

As an EMS educator, he has crossed the country and globe speaking on a wide variety of topics.

He has contributed to dozens of articles in magazines and several textbooks.

Those titles include Emergency Medical Services, EMS Professional, Fire Chief, fireEMS, and JEMS. These articles cover topics on airway management, cardiology, EMS education, and disaster response. 

State legislatures in Texas and Virginia recognized Suprun for his leadership in EMS. Additionally, Kentucky Governor Beshear commissioned Suprun a Kentucky Colonel. This is the highest title of honor bestowed by the Governor of Kentucky.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation recognized Suprun for contributions September 11. Since 2001, Suprun has spoken to more than twenty thousand your people about 9-11. He speaks on overcoming adversity and challenge using lessons from that day.

For this he received a piece of the World Trade Center steel recovered during operations.

Suprun is still a member of many nonprofit boards and advisory commissions. Suprun won election as President of the International Association of Firefighters, Local 3474. He was also an inaugural classmember of the Leadership Dallas ISD 2011 class.

He helped found the Townview Dallas Magnet’s Foundation and Alumni Association. This is a community based nonprofit aimed at supporting high achieving at-risk students. He also serves as a Board Member with Strike Out Kids Cancer Foundation. This group brings baseball to children with cancer and other medical conditions.

    Suprun has appeared in local and national newspapers. His opeds appear in the New York Times, Houston Chronicle, and US News and World Report. He has also appeared on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, syndicated and national radio programs, and many others. Our media page is here.

    In his spare time, Suprun is an avid baseball fan and coaches and umpires America’s past time. In 2019, his team won the Texas Rangers Junior RBI baseball championship. He also has an IMDB listing for work as an extra for several films.

     

    Relaying 9/11 Heroism To Those Too Young To Remember

    His experience has given him a platform, he knows. He uses it to spread an old-fashioned message, about teamwork, practice, and perseverance. In the case of his audience, that kind of dedication might involve doing homework and test-prep, he said yesterday to some groans. He kept going.
